Hello

And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

A Heart for Healing and Hope: My Journey in Recovery and Service

For over a decade, I have dedicated myself to the work of sobriety and recovery. From a young age, I envisioned a place where individuals facing setbacks could find refuge, rebuild their lives, and rediscover their potential. This dream has remained my heartbeat, and I’ve been blessed to see it take form in ways I never could have imagined.

I am a single mother of four, and by the grace of God and the unwavering support of my family, I have been able to guide two of my children through college. The other two are on track to graduate soon. Growing up with a single mother and three siblings, I understand firsthand the challenges of limited resources. But I was fortunate to have a mother and a sister who always had my back, offering love, guidance, and the strength to keep going despite the odds.

Not everyone has that kind of support. Many people, especially those I now serve, don’t have the safety net I was blessed with. This is why I feel so deeply about providing a space for individuals who have faced hardships, setbacks, and even despair.

A pivotal moment in my life came when my nephew was released from jail and was ready for a fresh start. With a desire to change, he needed a place to live. Without hesitation, I opened my home to him. There were rules, structure, and boundaries, but with support, he thrived. He found a job, bought a car, and began rebuilding his life. Today, he is married with two children and continues to live a healthy, productive life.

Around the same time, a childhood friend came to me seeking a place to stay. This highlighted a deeper need in our community—there was no comprehensive support system under one roof for people looking to rebuild their lives. I saw that it takes more than just a roof over someone’s head; it takes time, patience, and a dedicated space to help someone’s mindset shift and heal. Recovery is not an overnight process—it requires time and compassion to renew the spirit and rebuild self-worth.

It typically takes a year for someone’s mindset to begin to transform. I realized that my heart for helping this community had grown over the years, especially as I faced my own setbacks. I’ve lived through challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today. I’ve learned that it’s not enough to have knowledge—you need experience, a deep understanding of what it feels like to hit rock bottom, and the compassion to meet others there without judgment.

For the last 12 years, God has allowed me to experience my own "bottoms"—and it has been in those dark places that my empathy for others has blossomed. I now understand the depth of what it means to feel lost, hopeless, and in need of someone who will listen. And I can say, from experience, that there is always hope, even in the darkest moments.

It has been an honor to walk alongside individuals who have nowhere else to turn. Many come to us seeking hope, guidance, and someone who understands. As I’ve grown in my own journey, I’ve been able to help others find theirs. Through the years, we’ve seen countless success stories, and there is nothing more rewarding than knowing we’ve played a small part in someone’s journey to healing, restoration, and renewed purpose.

Today, I continue to serve with the same passion that ignited my journey. It’s a privilege to offer a safe space where others can find the hope they need, grow at their own pace, and ultimately reclaim their lives.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to witness the transformative power of recovery and to be a source of support for those who need it most. It’s not just about overcoming addiction—it’s about restoring dignity, purpose, and a future that once seemed out of reach.
